'RuPaul's All Stars Drag Race 2' Who Made the Cast?

Posted in RuPaul's Drag Race on September 23, 2015

The taping of RuPaul's All Stars Drag Race 2 has been the worst kept secret in dragbut which queens made the cut?

Back in July, Logo sent the Drag Race fandom in a frenzy when they posted a video of RuPaul annoucing the new All Stars 2 series. Since then, there have been unprecedented levels of excitement and Nancy Drewing which has given us a pretty good idea who's been cast.

We want to give a huge shoutout to members over on the /r/rupaulsdragrace subreddit for taking schedule-watching and Nancy Drewing to new heights! All of the cast below are suspected to have made it due to dropping off social media and from gigs during the suspected filming dates. The show could put all of these on or none of them at all, but we're hoping for 1 or 2 surprises as well.

So, who could have made it?

Alaska Thunderfuck 5000

Austin Young

Let's get the obvious out of the way. Of course Alaska's going to be on. It's Alaska. Drag Race's favourite runner up (sorry, Raven) won everyone's hearts on season 5 and has continued with sky-rocketing success since.

Becoming an American Apparel Ad girl, releasing a full-length album studio album (topping the iTunes Dance Chart, no less) and travelling the world is all in Alaska's stride, but can she take the All Stars crown?

Katya Zamolodchikova

Steven Trumon

Katya, Katya, Katya. Up there with Alaska for one of the most-loved queens ever to appear on the show, she has a huge fanbase which is both terrifying and amazing. Many think she should have made the top 3 in season 7, so we'll see if she can get there in All Stars 2.

Katya mysteriously disappeared from social media for weeks and rescheduled a bunch of gigs along with every other freakin' queen on this list, which has pretty much cemented her place.

Alyssa Edwards

Alyssa Edwards

We're kind of on the fence with Alyssa. She's one of the show's more successful queens (hey, Alyssa's Secret!) and a World of Wonder celebrity, we thought she'd be a lock-in. But suddenly she made an appearance with Miley Cyrus at this years VMA's. Low and behold, she disappeared again right after.

We have a feeling she scored a deal with the producers to be let out for the VMA's, but we'll just wait and see.

Coco Montrese

Coco Montrese

Jose A Guzman Colon

You weren't expecting to see this name in the list, were ya? Coco disappeared and surfaced the same time as the other queens suspected, so she's highly suspected. She gave great (talking) head on season 5 and has been doing really well since. We just hope the producers aren't trying to recreate Alyssa vs. Coco 2.0. We've already had the facecrack of the century, hunties.

Roxxxy Andrews

Roxxxy Andrews

Miss Roxxxy. She was a little brutal on season 5, we get that. But since, she's improved and evolved like a mystical drag creature. She's lost weight and looks better than ever (still thick 'n juicy, might we add) and brought it to the runway every single episode. Literally. We're super excited to see what she can bring to All Stars 2 this time around.

Okay, we live for Detox. She is a fierce queen who can stomp a runway for days. But you've probably clocked Rolaskatox in the lineup and that makes us a little on-edge. We hope production isn't pulling for a season 5 reunion considering the whole top 7 of season 5 (minus Jinkx) is set to appear.

Aside from that, Detox gave us some of the funniest confessionals of season 5 and she is sure to stir up some drama.

Phi Phi O'Hara

C'mon, redemption! We know most of you were hoping Laganja would get a chance to redeem herself on All Stars 2, but it's Phi Phi's turn. She still has a lot of haters after season 4's romper-room fuckery but has since become an amazing and kind-hearted queen. She disappeared off social media for a weeks and re-surfaced along with the other queens, but can she play nice this time?

Adore Delano

Adore Delano

Producer Entertainment / We Are Royale

The only season 6 queen that is highly-suspected to be on. Really? That's what we thought too. There was so much talent on season 6 it seems a shame to just pick one. But if you're going to pick anyone, Adore is a great choice. She won a huge fanbase with her charisma during her season and has gone on to tour the world with a fantastic, record-breaking album.

Despite this, she's been under fire for having a "lazy" form of drag from other queens over the past year, so we're looking forward to seeing how she stacks up against the titans this season.

Ginger Minj

Ginger Minj

Nate Gowdy

The second season 7 queen to appear in this list and it's definitely a great choice. Ginger stormed through the acting and singing challenges during her run and if things play in her favour, she could do it again. Though not a fan-favourite due to her slightly shady-lady ways in her confessionals, she isn't someone to underestimate. And she's actually a sweetheart, duh.

We left Tati until last because we are gagged. She was first suspected when she dropped off social media, and this was (semi) confirmed when she stopped showing up to her weekly gigs. Tati is the ONLY queen from the first 3 seasons suspected to have made the cut and we couldn't be happier.

She made an appearance on All Stars 1 (Tea with Tati, anyone?) but definitely deserves her place this time around. We're not-so-secretly gunning for Tati. Rep the earlier seasons, qween!

Honorable Mention

Kelly Mantle

Kelly. What can we say about Kelly? DON'T WEAR BACON! We're kind of on-the-fence with Kelly as she disappeared from social media around the same time as the other queens to work on personal projects. Low and behold she re-appeared at a similar time. Unfortunately this is all we have to go off as there were no sightings during filming, so we'll just have to wait and see!

Though, if there was ever a first-out queen to get another chance, we're glad it's Kelly. She got shafted by the split opening in season 6 and has so much more to give.

The Verdict

"Yaasss" pretty much sums up where we're at with this list. We're so hyped for All Stars 2 that we'll take anything. We would make some adjustments to the lineup to include some earlier queens (Ongina, Morgan & Delta spring to mind...) but overall we're super-happy since each queen is a fierce and strong competitor in their own right.
